Nauders is a little know resort which is right buy both the Austrian, Italian and Swiss Border. The local area pass allows you to ski the local slopes of Austrian (the Bergkastel ski area) and the near by slopes in Italy (Haider Alm). This gives you about 120kmof piste on the lift pass. You can also get to Samnaun in Switzerland if you get a taxi. Samnaun is the Swiss resort that is linked up with Ischgl so you can ski over to Ischgl from there. Samnaun is also tax free for a bit if shopping (although the Swiss franc might still make it a bit pricey). You can also easily get a taxi to Scuol, also in Switzerland, which opens up even more skiing. And further still, just a 35 minute drive away is the Austrian resort of Fiss (in the Tirols Ski Dimension), which offers just over 200km of pisted skiing.
On a ski holiday in Nauders you could almost ski a different mountain and a different resort on each day of your ski holiday! It is worth noting that Ischgl and Samnaun are covered on the are pass (the Snowcard Gold) whilst a trip to Scuol or Fiss with require purchasing extra day passes.
There is a larger castle which over looks the resort of Nauders called Schloss Naudersberg which overlooks the resort. Nauders is a town that is full of history and character making a ski holiday to Nauders great for both skiers and non skiers. In recent times the neighbouring village of Alt-Graun was flooded to make way for a lake (Lake Reschen) but the old church spire can still be seen from the shore as it rises above the water level of the lake. During the winter the view is even more impressive when the lake freezes over!
There are 120km of piste available on the local lift pass that you can but from Nauders. Of this 44km of the runs are classified as easy so there is plenty of skiing on offer for beginners.
Intermediates will love the variety of the skiing. One day you can be skiing in the Bergkastel ski area. The next day you can get the bus up the valley to Reschen and then the next you can be skiing in Italy in Haider Alm.
Advanced skiers who do not mind covering the same terrain a few times throughout the course of the week will make the most of Nauders. However, for those looking to spread their wings it would be a good idea to hire a local taxi for a few days to take you to the near by resorts of Scuol in Switzerland and also Samnaun (linked with Ischgl), as well as the Austrian resort of Fiss. Between Nauders, Scuol, Fiss and Samnaun you can access roughly 600km of piste. If you upgrade to the area pass known as the Snowcard Gold then you will not have to purchase extra lift passes to ski in Samnaun and Ischgl.
The recent addition of a snowpark and boarder-cross will be music to the ears of snowboarders and those who love spending time riding well groomed pistes will make the most of the snowboarding in Nauders

Nauders is by no means a “go to” resort for apres ski, but like nearly all Austrian ski resorts there is a good few bars to check out which are often busy during the apres ski hours. The Yeti bars gets busy from 3pm onwards and offers a good selection of drinks as well as music. Whilst Yeti often stays busy later on into the night if you want to stay out until the early hours in Nauders then head to The Ibex nightclub where you can party the night away.
