Seefeld is undoubtedly one of the best destinations on Europe for cross-country Nordic skiing. It has almost 300km of trails available and it is highly thought of within the cross-country skiing community. Add to that almost 50km of down hill skiing and it gives you a perfect resort to head too if you are looking for a good mixture of both ski disciplines. Seefeld is also a brilliant resort for those looking to try downhill skiing for the first time and the fact that Seefeld is only 30 minutes from Innsbruck means that getting there could not be easier. It is a beautiful resort with classic Tirolean charm and lovely architecture.
Seefeld has played host to the winter Olympics 2 times (once in 1964 and once in 1976) and in recent years it also hosted the Youth Olympics (in 2012). As you might expect from any Olympic resort, Seefeld has a wealth of decent facilities on offer, for example, the Olympic Sport Centre for ice skating as well as floodlit pistes for night events and night skiing, along with a modern lift system (some lifts have weatherproof covers and heated seats). There are also plenty of bars and restaurants to keep you occupied off the slopes, as well as a casino which makes a ski holiday to Seefeld great for both skiers and non skiers alike. The fact that you can get to Innsbruck in just 30 minutes is great for non skiers who want to go a day trip to go shopping.
iSki has a good selection of accommodation option in Seefeld so have a look and see if you can find what you are looking for. If you can't find what you want or if you just want some help along the way then do not be afraid to give us a call on 02037780123. We are here to help.
Beginners will start off by skiing at the Geigenbuhel area. It is specifically tailored towards the needs of beginners skiers with easy and gentle blue runs. After a day of to of lessons you will probably want to head to the Gschwandtkopf area. This area is also only blue runs but there is a bit more variety on offer.
Intermediate skiers will be able to make the most of all of the skiing in Seefeld. Start of the week with a few gentle runs at Geigenbuhel, then move onto the bigger area of Gschwandtkopf. After this head over to Rosshutte where there are some more challenging blue and red runs.
There are a couple of black runs available to expert skiers down from the top of Seefelder Joch and the red runs on the Rosshutte will be of interest to advanced skiers as well. There are also some good off piste opportunities if you know where to look so a hiring a guide is well worth it.
As with skiing, Seefeld is a great place to learn to snowboard, with gentle piste and not to many lift queues. More advanced snowboarders will like the well maintained pistes and the off piste opportunities as well as the Crazy-Hole snowpark which has a few rails and kickers.
With 279km of cross-country trails, Seefeld is a brilliant destination for a cross-country ski holiday. There is terrain to suite all abilities from beginner to advanced, and the area known as the Olympiaregion has trails that link up 5 villages. If you are after lessons then there is a specific ski school for cross-country skiing.

After the fun is over at Ski-Alm you can head into town and take your pick of the bars such as Braurkeller or the Britannia Pub with pool, darts and pinball. Popular restaurant choices include, Sudtirolerstuben and Batzenhausel. For those who want to keep the party going then head to the Jeep discotheque or why not have a flutter at the casino.
