The team look forward to welcoming you to its well-appointed rooms and suites, excellent leisure facilities and superb location. LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION! The Elisabeth has an enviable location in the resort, tucked back from the main street and overlooking the river, yet convenient for Lech’s main facilities. A short 3-4 minutes’ easy stroll on the private road that runs by the river will take you to the heart of the resort with its attractive shops, bars and restaurants and our ski equipment partner shop. SKI AREA ACCESS A leisurely 5 minutes’ stroll along the road running parallel to the river leads to the Rufiplatz where skiers can take the Rufikopf gondola to start their day and explore the Stubenbach slopes with its lovely open blue and red runs leading down to charming Zurs. Alternatively, take the bus from the main street, only 2-3 minutes from the hotel door, to the Schlegelkopf chair-lifts to enjoy Oberlech’s appealing runs and hospitable lunch spots with sunny panoramic terraces. For beginners the Flühen and Schwarzwand drag lifts are close to the main church and about 8 minutes’ walk, although the efficient free ski shuttle is the easiest way to get here and to the ski school meeting place. At the end of the day, ski down to the village centre from your chosen route and stroll the five minutes or so home, perhaps stopping to enjoy a warm welcome in one of the hospitable après-ski bars as you pass. COMFORTABLE HOTEL FACILITIES The Elisabeth has been owned and lovingly cared for by the Gafgo family for many years and the pride they have taken in the hotel is clear from the moment you enter. Classic Austrian decorative features, such as warm wood panelling and beams, combine with more modern bedroom facilities and quality bathrooms to provide guests with a very comfortable stay, completed by the impressive indoor pool and leisure facilities. The attractive fireplace with feature chimney is set between the lounge bar, where tea and coffee is available, and the dining room with its smart red upholstered Stube booths and inviting decor. Free Wifi is available in all the public areas to stay in touch with loved ones and share your holiday experiences. Downstairs is the atmospheric Reindeer bar, providing a warm ambience for convivial pre-dinner apéritifs and canapés and perhaps a nightcap after your meal. A spacious, heated ski and boot room is on the ground floor with its own convenient separate entrance opening onto the quiet road which leads to the resort centre and the closest lift at Rufiplatz. The bedrooms are comfortably furnished and are all individually decorated to a high standard. The large twin rooms have a sofa bed (suitable for an adult or child), which in many rooms is set slightly apart from the main Austrian twin bed, through an archway into an alcove area. All have an en suite bath or shower room, TV, hairdryer and safe and some have the benefit of a balcony. The Elisabeth’s appeal is enhanced by its indoor heated swimming pool (8 x 3 metres) and the adjoining sauna, steam room and relaxation area will be a welcome haven for guests over 13 at the end of each skiing day. This area is also beautifully decorated with a bright fish mural and a large sky light so you can see the stars outside or the snow falling, whilst enjoying the warmth of the pool.

CULINARY CHOICE DINNERS
A special feature of this Chalet Hotel is a more extensive culinary experience for our guests. With the greater kitchen facilities of a hotel, our professional chefs are able to offer choices of menu at dinner freshly prepared for you 6 nights per week, generally including lighter as well as more hearty options, and always a vegetarian choice for each course. Guests will be asked to choose their evening meals at breakfast for that evening from a varied daily selection. Our Chalet Hotel adult-only dinners offer 3 courses for 6 nights per week, starting with apéritif, followed by an appetiser, main course and dessert or cheese selection to round off your meal in style. All this is then followed by coffee to complete your evening’s repast! Your choice of complimentary quality wines is unlimited during the meal service and freshly chilled water is also of course always available.
CHILDREN’S HIGH TEA
High Tea provides children under 13 years with a healthy menu, tailored more towards children’s tastes and puréed food is available for infants on request. High Tea is at 5.30pm, and children do not join the main adult-only dinner.
ADULTS DINING WITH CHILDREN
Families may choose to eat separately (High Tea at 5:30pm) or all dine together at the later adult dinner time if children who have received a child discount pay the meal upgrade charge of £39 at the time of booking only.
Welcome to the majestic resort of Lech. With its outstanding natural beauty, immaculately groomed slopes, and guaranteed snow it’s widely considered to be one of Austria’s top ski resorts.
Along with its enviable snow record and short transfer time, it has long been beloved of royalty and celebrities.
Lech is part of the extensive Arlberg ski area, linking to Zurs, Stubenbach, St Christoph and the legendary St Anton. The Arlberg has 280km of pistes and 180km of off piste routes.
With its high altitude skiing, impressive diversity of slopes, and modern lifts; you really can’t afford to miss out on Lech. We have a fantastic range of holiday packages to choose from, flying from your local regional airport.
The village itself is stunning, a typical Tyrolean village with an attractive river running through the town. Famous for its world-class hospitality and outstanding facilities, Lech is quite simply one of the most beautiful resorts out there. A 14th century church dominates the landscape of the village, and the tiny, picturesque hamlet of Zurs is only a few minutes away by bus - or you can ski there!
There are a number of hotels and chalets in the resort offering the majority of the available accommodation, some of which is ski in ski out. Why not call our experts on 0203 8236118 and see what we can find you in Lech?
The skiing in Lech is widely considered to be some of the best in Austria. The ski area is known as the Arlberg ski area linking Lech to the resorts of Zurs, Stubenbach, St Christoph and the famous St Anton. There are 280km of slopes and 180km (113 miles) of off piste and with so much high altitude skiing on offer, snow is virtually guaranteed. One of the great features of Lech and Zurs is that the resorts will only sell up to a set maximum number of lift tickets, meaning the slope will never be too busy.
For learner skiers and children there are gentle nursery slopes found very close to the main lifts and many of the hotels, making them easy to access.
There are many idyllic wide blue and red runs to choose from, notably the runs from the Schlegelkopf chair which accesses the scenic Oberlech. Opposite the main chair lifts you’ll find the Rüfikopf lift that leads to the Hexenboden slopes heading toward Zurs.
There’s also the legendary ski circuit known as “The White Ring”. This is a unique route through part of the Alps between Lech, Zurs, Zug and Oberlech. This route is still centred around the original cable cars and lifts just as it was when it was first popularised 50 years ago. This circuit is home to the White Ring race that takes place in January every year and, at 22km, is the longest ski race in the world. The record for this course is held by Patrick Ortile with his time of 44:35:07 - can you beat it?
Lech is an expert skier’s paradise, with some of the best and most challenging off piste in Austria, You can also try heli-skiing if you want a new challenge!
The vast extent of phenomenal, untouched off piste over the resort’s unique and diverse terrain is ideal for boarders, with many cliff drops (only for the experts) and 180km of off piste routes to choose from. There are also 2 snowparks; one in Lech, one the famed Stanton Park over in St Anton, to have a play on.
After the slopes close, the town comes alive! It’s not exaggerating to say the main street turns into one long street bar filled with champagne and cocktails. Popular places to go include the Tannbergerhof which later turns into a nightclub, and there are also a staggering 4 discos to visit. It’s also well worth stopping off in St Anton to sample the apres ski there as well.
One chair up from the main lift station in Lech is an ice bar with a chilled out atmosphere serving oysters and champagne. This bar has a fantastic outdoor seating area with music and is a must for anyone who goes to Lech.
The Mooserwirt and Krazy Kanguruh bars are two of the best apres ski venues in the Alps. If you’re staying in Lech, just stop off in St Anton for a bit of apres fun and jump on the bus back to Lech once it is all over. Just make sure not to miss the last bus!
