The chalet is just next to the piste, where ski access is quick and easy. Just stroll 50m out the door to put your skis on to go directly to the Nasserein gondola and you are straight up into the best ski and most snow sure area of Austria. You can be among the first to hit the slopes in the morning. The ski track at 50m of the chalet is easy and suitable for children and beginners, they ski directly to the three drag lifts at the nursery slopes. At the end of the day you will ski nearby the chalet. If you don’t ski to the lift, the Nasserein gondola is at 250m. You could walk, but if you will find this distance too far the excellent ski bus service stopping just in front of the chalet and running regularly throughout the day and for free. At the lift there are also heated ski lockers for your boots, skis and board. Ski school and ski hire shop are in a short distance. The centre of St Anton with the après-ski and nightlife is 5 minutes’ walk (500m). All eight bedrooms have new flatscreen TV’s, wardrobe, storage cabinet, divan beds, duvets and pillows. Almost all rooms are spacious and have beautiful views on the slopes. There is a living room with sofas and flatscreen TV and a dining room with also a flatscreen TV. The chalet has a lovely home from home feel and warm thanks to the Tyrolean atmosphere. Three cars can park at the chalet for free, more cars at the neighbours for € 7,- per day. Location: St Anton has it all; classic, matchless skiing, a superb snow record, mile upon mile of piste, limitless off-piste adventure, gentle Austrian charm and irrepressibly varied après-ski. No wonder it is a resort which has to be skied at least once by any keen skier in search of world-class skiing. Grouped around the onion-domed church, St Anton has a traditional, village atmosphere. The accent on the local and the traditional enhances St Anton’s enjoyably laid-back ‘Gemütlichkeit’, a word hard to translate but easy to experience when tucking into a plate of warm apple strudel by an open fire in a wood-panelled mountain hut. The centre of the village is traffic free and is full of traditional character. The beautiful painted exteriors of the buildings in the bustling shopping district provide a perfect backdrop to enjoy your non-skiing time. There are a number of places serving the exquisite hot chocolate and cakes for which Austria is justifiably famous. Keeping the accent on character, quality and tradition, St Anton has retained elements lacking in many ski resorts, romance, international glamour and the fun of doing something other than skiing. The après-ski is just as fun, and often as strenuous, as the skiing, beginning even before you’ve shed your skis and boots, with glühwein and even a spot of dancing to live music at vibrant mountain bars like the Mooserwirt and the Krazy Kangaroo. After dinner, those with the energy find that the night-life, in hot spots such as Piccadilly, Postkeller and Hazienda, is as legendary as the skiing. For the day after the night before there is nothing better than a visit to the Arlberg-well.com centre which is situated at the bottom of the slopes by the open-air ice rink. This complex includes a beautiful swimming pool, massage and gym facilities. • Biggest ski area and most snow-sure resort in Austria • Deservedly renowned as one of the world’s top ski resorts • Big skiing, freeriding and world class off-piste action • Traditional Austrian charm • Wonderful mix of old and new architecture • Legendary, lively and dynamic après-ski culture • Serious nightlife • Spa wellness centre Arlberg Well with indoor and outdoor heated pools • Dedicated children’s areas combined with excellent instructors • Skiing altitude 2811 metres • Pistes 335km • Number of lifts 96 • Fun-parks 4 • Villages in Ski Arlberg: St Anton, Lech, Stuben, Zürs, St Christoph, Warth, Schröcken, Klösterle, Zug

St Anton is a Mecca for all serious skiers and snowboarders. Widely considered to be one of the world's top 10 ski resorts, you'll struggle to find a location better for extreme sports like this, and it's also one of our favorite places here at iSki. But what makes St. Anton ski holidays stand out from the rest?
Before taking a look at the skiing available in St Anton, it makes sense to have a brief tour of the location. St Anton am Arlberg, or St Anton for short is a small Austrian village situated amongst the Tyrolean Alps. St Anton is often referred to as "the cradle of alpine skiing" thanks to the role it has played in making this extreme sport popular, and many of the world's greatest skiers have spent time on these slopes. You don't need to be a pro to enjoy ski holidays in St Anton, though.
With a bustling pedestrianized center, those who don't want to hit the slopes won't run out of things to do. You can spend the trip exploring the many beautiful boutiques, exquisite restaurants, and cozy cafes on offer in St Anton, or you could spend some time with nature, exploring the serene landscapes surrounding the ski slopes.
St Anton is famed for its reliable snowfall, a wide variety of stunning slopes, and the breathtaking backdrop of the Tyrolean Alps, offering the chance to experience a place that feels truly out of this world. Plus you can find amazing St Anton ski deals. St Anton is also part of the renowned Arlberg Ski-Circus. This group includes Lech, Zurs, Stuben, St Christoph, and Warth, with the whole group offering 340km of pistes for you to enjoy during your stay in Austria.
The main resort sits at around 1304m above sea level, providing panoramic views of the Tyrolean Alps and an excellent snow record for skiers to take advantage of. The highest lift at St Anton reaches a dizzyingly high 2811m, giving you more than 1500m of runway to launch yourself down the slopes.
St Anton is renowned the world over for its breath taking views, huge variety of terrain, and epic off piste. There are over 86 ski lifts as well as cable cars to cover the 340km of pistes where the 2001 Alpine World Ski Championships took place.
Located at the top of the town the main ski lift is the Galzigbahn, the world’s first Funitel gondola which allows passengers to board a gondola on the ground before being rotated up to the main high speed cables.
This ski resort has a reputation as a challenging place to ski and is primarily considered to be for intermediates and above. With that said, however, there are a good number of beginner pistes and novices should not be put off as St Anton’s ski schools have a very good reputation. Easy nursery slopes can be found in nearby Nasserein.
St Anton is the perfect place to improve your skiing skills. The best area for intermediates is the pistes in Gampen; these slopes can be reached from the Gampen chairlift or the Nasserein gondola. You can then take the 6-person chair to Kampen, which is a great Freeride area.
St Anton, is a must-visit for any experienced skier; famous routes include the backside of Valluga 1 and 2, off piste from 2,811m (9,222 feet) into Zurs and requiring a guide. Other popular routes for advanced skiers include the Schindlerkar, Mattun and Stuben trails that are less frequently groomed than other routes - and heli-skiing is also available.
Snowboarding in St Anton ****
Opposite St Anton there is the Rendl ski area which is separate from the main St Anton ski area. Here you’ll find a well-groomed snow park which is often less busy than the St Anton side which has become a favourite with the locals.
Whether you're spending each and every day on the slopes or using your St Anton ski holiday for other activities, the nightlife you'll be soaking up will surely be a big part of your plans. Après Ski means "after ski" and is a tradition which is very common at ski resorts. Après Ski activities can include sharing meals, going out for drinks, or even spending time in a hot tub to relax your body after a hard day of skiing.
St Anton is home to a huge range of Après Ski options, including a wide range of bars and restaurants. Mooserwirt is one of the most popular bars in St Anton, and it can be found right next to this village's most famous slope. Table dancing, shots, and all-round fun can be expected here, and the same can be said for much of the nightlife in and around St Anton.
