Filzmoos is a lovely little ski resort. It is classically Austrian and it feels as though nothing has changed in Filzmoos for years as it has retained its classic alpine charm. Filzmoos is a great family ski resorts as the slopes are always empty and the concept of a queue to get onto a ski lift is unheard of in Filzmoos. The local slopes of Filzmoos only have 12km of piste which is ideal for beginners but there is a lot more skiing on offer if you get the full area “Ski Amade” lift pass. There is 860km of piste covered on the full area pass and about 28 resorts which you can ski but you will have to be prepared to get a bus as Filzmoos is not linked to any of them via lift.
The closest resorts to Filzmoos which are easily reached on the ski bus are Eben and Flachau (as you will be able to see on the piste map). To get to these resorts takes between 15-25 minutes via the ski bus. There are a few extra runs in Eben but it is well worth taking the all the way to Flachau as from here a whole host of additional ski opportunities arise.
Here are iSki we have a good variety of accommodation options for your ski holiday to Filzmoos so either have a look on our site at what we have to offer or give our friendly sale team a call on 02037780123 and we will more than happily help in any way possible.
Filzmoos is a popular choice for families, it is also part of the Ski Armade, Austria's largest ski area.
Filzmoos is a perfect resort for beginners. It has quite slopes, practically no lift queue and plenty of nursery slopes that are easily accessed from the village centre.
Lower intermediate skiers or those who have skied just once of twice before will find the skiing in Filzmoos to be adequate enough but more adventurous skiers will want to purchase the full area lift pass so that they can take the ski bus an connect to the other local resorts in the area.
Advanced skiers will find that the slopes on offer in Filzmoos not enough to satisfy your needs you will easily be able to ski all of the local slopes within a day, if not half a day so a full area lift pass will be essential. The full area pass covers 860km of piste in an area called the Ski Armade which has 28 resorts under its belt. However, to get to the other resorts you will have to get the ski bus which only runs 3 times a week so be prepared to spend at least 3 days out of the week on just the local slopes or else fork out for a few taxi's.
As with skiers, Filzmoos is ideal for beginners who have never snowboarded before. However, intermediate and advanced snowboarders will find the local terrain to be rather limited and will want to look at taking the ski bus to explore the neighbouring resorts that are covered if you purchase the full area lift pass.

No obligation. One of the team will come back to you the same day where we can.
Filzmoos is not a hot pot for apres ski, and if you are looking for a week of skiing and partying then we would advise against choosing Filzmoos are your ski holiday destination. However, as is the case with most Austria resorts there are handful of bars where you will always find a crowd of people enjoying a few drinks after a hard day on the slopes. “Happy Filzmoos” is always a very popular apres ski destination in Filzmoos or for a more laid back vibe try “Kenn-i-di” bar.
