Kirchberg is most well know for being the neighbouring resort to to the world famous Kitzbuhel. Kirchberg actually has a lot to offer in its own right but being directly linked into the KitzSki, ski area, definitely has its benefits. The KitzSki (the ski area in which Kirchberg if located) has 170km of piste on offer and the skiing is great for all abilities from beginner through to advanced. It covers Kirchberg, Kitzbuhel, Jochberg, Mittersill, Hollersbach and Pass Thurn which means that there is a great variety of slopes and plenty of resorts to ski in and out of throughout the course of your holiday. If 170km of piste does not sound like enough skiing for you then you can upgrade to the Kitzbuheler Alpen AllStarCard. This technically gives you access to 10 resorts and over 1000km of piste, but realistically the main benefit is that it allows you to be able to ski over to Westendorf and Brixen, and thus link in with the SkiWelt. This opens up an extra 280km of piste giving you a connected area of 450km of skiing!
Whilst Kitzbuhel might be the noisy neighbour, offering some of the best apres ski and nightlife in the Alps, and hosting world famous events such as the Hahnenkamm Race Weekend, Kirchberg is much more than just Kitzbuhels smaller sibling. Kirchberg has plenty going on itself and has a good selection of restaurants, apres ski bars (both on and off the hill) as well as nightclubs and discos for those looking to party into the early hours. Kircharber is also only 6km from Kitzbuhel by road so a taxi is easy to book if you want to sample the Kitzbuhel nightlife, or if you stop in Kitzbuhel for apres and need to get back later in the evening. Having said all of this, none of nightlife or apres ski in Kirchberg isn't really in your face so if you don't go looking for it then it is easy to avoid. As a result Kirchberg is also popular with families and is a good destination for a ski holiday for groups with mixed preferences where some want to party and some do not.
You will find a modest section of hotels listed on our website in Kirchberg. It is not a huge destination on the UK ski scene so the number of hotels that we have on offer reflects this. However, the properties that we do feature offer a good mix of quality, location and value. If by chance you can't find what you are looking for then do not hesitate to give a call and we will more than happily help – 02037780124.

Tell us roughly when you want to go and who is coming, and we will price it with the operators for you.
No obligation. One of the team will come back to you the same day where we can.
Whilst Kirchberg is connected to the KitzSki area it also has its own mountain called Gaisberg. This is where you will head if you are a beginner skier. The lifts for the nursery slopes are free of charge which is ideal for absolute beginners as it means that you do not have to fork out any money on a lift pass until you feel confident enough to challenge yourself on the harder pistes.
Intermediate skiers will want to make the most of all the skiing in the area not just the local slopes on Gaisberg. Connecting into the KitzSki from Kirchbarg means catching a bus from the centre of the resort to either the Fleckalmbahn or Maierlbahn lift which are each about 5minutes from the centre. From each lift you can connect over to Kitzbuhel to ski the Hahnenkamm or the Kitzbuheler Horn as well as being about to ski to the other resorts that make up the area.
Most advanced skiers staying in Kirchberg will not even give the local slopes on the Gaisberg a second look and will head straight over to Kitzbuhel and beyond. Many advanced skiers will be happy with the quality of the skiing on offer even though the KitzSki is not the biggest ski area. However, if you are the type of skier who like to as far and as fast as you can, whilst trying to avoid skiing the same section of terrain more than once where possible, then you should upgrade to the Kitzbuheler Alpen AllStarCard which allows you to link over to the Ski Welt via Westendorf and opens up a huge amount of skiing.
Kirchberg is a good destination for a snowboarding holiday. The area as a whole offers good terrain, both on and off piste, and there are 2 snowparks within the local KitzSki area (with access to even more in the extended area covered by the AllStarCard lift pass). The two local snowparks are well looked after and there is a half pipe as well.
Kirchberg is a busy and bustling town with plenty going on. It has a good apres ski scene and a nice touch of night life as well. The fact the Kitzbuhel can be so easily reached adds even more apres ski and night life offerings. Much of the local apres ski activities starts in the piste side bars and then spreads down into the village as the evening goes on. Schneebar Oberkaser is a particularly popular apres ski bar. As people gradually head down into the town the party is spread between a could collection of bars, of which the London Pub and the Australian themed Boomerang Bar are two popular choices. If you want a spot of dancing then head for Fuchsloch, and Der Tiroler is a popular bar as well.
During the Hahnenkamm race weekend both Kitzbuhel and Kirchberg are extremely busy. The event takes place at the end of January. Kitzbuhel tends to book out earlier then Kirchberg so if you are looking to be in the area to experience this event then Kirchberg might be a good place to try if you can't find anything in Kitzhuel.
