The Grand Albergo Claviere is a homely hotel in the world-class Milky Way ski area. You’ll love the warm and friendly staff and the cosy bar area, where everyone gathers to share tales of the slopes over a tea or coffee every afternoon. The traditional décor of natural wood flows throughout the hotel, giving it a mountain chalet feel. Where the hotel lacks lavish decoration and styling, it certainly makes up for it with its sociable and welcoming atmosphere. Rooms at the hotel are spacious and comfortable, with lots of natural wood furniture and panelling. There’s several different room types available, sleeping from two to five people – some also have a balcony to enjoy the mountainous and snowy surroundings. Make the most of our own Crystal Childcare, based within the hotel itself. It certainly makes for a stress-free stay if you’re travelling with the little ones – and with free kids' places available, it's excellent value too. They can spend a fun-filled day with our team, and we’ll even take them to and from their lessons while you're on the mountain. And when you’re not on the slopes, sit back in the hotel’s cosy lounge and bar area, or out on the sun terrace catching some sunshine. For your convinience, you’ll also have access to the practical things too – use the fridge, kettle and microwave whenever you need to. With the all-inclusive package, you won’t have to think about organising meal times. Get ready for the mountain with a hot and cold breakfast buffet, and don’t forget your hand-packed lunch to take out with you each day. When you return, having stored everything in the heated boot room, relax with afternoon tea and cakes before your hearty evening dinner in the traditional dining room. And the all-inclusive drinks is really handy for those looking to watch the pennies.

Those looking at a ski holiday in Claviere will get a lovely little Italian ski village that sits right on the French border and has a lovely mix of Italian and French influences. It is a great resort for a family ski holiday or for those looking for a laid back week of quality skiing and touches quality dining. The local slopes are most suited to intermediates and beginners but advanced skiers are well catered for with the option to ski the full 400km of piste on the Italian and French side of the Milky Way.
There are a couple of options for lift passes in Claviere which is ideal for skiers of different abilities. The local slopes and the local lift pass covers just the slopes in and around Claviere and Cesana as well as a days skiing in the rest of the Italian Milky Way over towards Sauze d'Oulx and Sestriere. You can also get an extended lift pass that covers both Claviere and Cesana (in Italy) and the neighboring resort of Montgenevre (in France). This lift pass also gives you a day skiing in the extended Italian Milky Way.
iSki has a few different accommodation options in Claviere. If you can't find what you are looking for on our site then give our friendly team a call on 02037780124 and we might be able to come up with some additional ideas for you.
The nursery slopes are easy to access from the village center and the piste is rarely overly busy making Claviere in great resort for beginners skiers. Beginners will only need to purchase a local area lift pass as there is plenty of skiing for a week on just the local slopes of Claviere and Cesana.
Intermediates will absolutely love skiing in Claviere. The majority of the pistes are blue and red, and the red runs that are on offer are not too challenging. The lift pass that covers the skiing in Claviere, Cesana, and Montgenevre will be plenty to keep even upper intermediates busy for a week but the added bonus of the day skiing on the rest of the Milky Way is a nice little sweetener.
In Claviere and Montgenevre there are a few black runs on which advanced skiers can challenge themselves and there is plenty of off-piste skiing as well. Advanced skiers will definitely want to get the lift pass that covers all of the local slopes as well as those in Montgenevre and you will definitely want to take advantage of the day skiing that is on offer in the rest of the Milky way as well. The full area has 400km of piste and the Olympic downhill run is definitely one to seek out.
Beginner snowboarders in Claviere will enjoy the uncrowded, easy access nursery slopes whilst intermediates and advanced boarders will appreciate the snowpark and boardercross Montgenevre. There are also extra board parks on offer in the extended Italian Milky Way and there is loads of piste piste route available throughout the area.

Tell us roughly when you want to go and who is coming, and we will price it with the operators for you.
No obligation. One of the team will come back to you the same day where we can.
Lively apres ski and nightlife is non-existent in Claviere but there are a couple of bars to check out if you want a few quiet drinks post skiing. Gallo Cardone is the main place to head if you are looking for a drink and the atmosphere is decent when busy, but it is mainly only busy at weekends.
If the low key apes ski-in Claviere is just too quiet for you then it is advisable to finish your skiing for the day in Montgenevre which has a better selection of bars. Either stop off early and ski back just before last lifts or stop off for a few hours and get a taxi back. It is about 2km from Montgenvre to Claviere so it is best to share the cost with 3 or 4 people if possible.
