Valmorel is a lovely little ski resort which is situated in the Le Grand Domain ski area, made up of 3 main resorts; Valmorel, Longchamps, and St Francois. It has a good snow record and offers roughly 150km of piste on the local area lift pass.
The ski resort of Valmorel is purpose-built but you would never know it. The big purpose-built resorts in France are often thought of as being ugly monstrosities from the '60s and '70s but Valmorel has to be designed with style in mind. Local materials help to give it a real alpine feel and the resort is traffic free with a lovely little cobbled high street. On top of this, the biggest benefit of Valmorel being purpose-built is that ski access was also thought about when they built the resort. No matter where you are staying in Valmorel you will never be far away from accessing the piste!
Here at iSki we have a small but decent section of hotels to look at in Valmorel. The crown jewel is the All-Inclusive Club Med Valmorel 5* Resort! Club Med love Valmorel so much that a few seasons ago they decided to have a top speck hotel built for them to the finest specifications. If you are interested in the Club Med Valmorel 5* resort, or if you want to look at any other accommodation that iSki can offer then why not give us a call on 02037780123 or email us. Beginner skiers will be in heaven in Valmorel. There are 15 acres of piste which are reserved exclusively for beginners in the ski school. This area is ideal for learning to ski without the fear of having to watch over your shoulder for other skiers who might be hurtling down the piste.
Intermediates will love the skiing on offer in Valmorel. 150km of varied piste and a variety of resorts to stop of for your lunch throughout the holiday. What more could you want.
Expert skiers on holiday in Valmorel may find that you have skied all of the listed areas within a day or so but where Valmorel comes into its own is off-piste. After new snowfall, there is miles upon miles of powder to be found with some extremely challenging steep faces and couloirs to be discovered.

There is a nice friendly vibe to the atmosphere in Valmorel. It is a great family resort and so there is not a huge amount of “in your face” apres ski and nightlife but if you are looking for a drink or two after a hard day on the piste then there are plenty of bars to be found.
There is a good selection of restaurants in Valmorel which sell all kinds of food from fondue to pizza. You can typically expect to pay about €20-€30 for a meal out depending on where you eat and whether you want to include wine.
