Canazei is located within Val di Fassa. It is the biggest of all the resorts in the valley. It is linked to the Sella Ronda ski circuit which is a huge ski area with many interconnected resorts. Intern the Sella Ronda is part of the Dolomiti Superski which has 1200km of piste covered on the lift pass. It is unlikely that you will ever ski all of it in one go as the lift pass covers nearly all of the Dolomites and not all of the resorts are linked. The skiing is great for all abilities from beginners through to advanced but it is the experts skiers amongst you who will get the most out of this massive ski area given how much skiing is on offer!

The enchanting feel of this beautiful ski resort makes it ideal for families, as does the fact that they have a great spa center and indoor water park in the resort. However, the lively resort centre and decent apres-ski scene also make it a great choice for a group ski holiday.

Given that Canazei is linked onto the Sella Ronda ski circuit, there is a seemingly endless amount of skiing to be had, with multiple resorts to ski too and from as well as loads of valleys to discover, each containing their own little secrets. The areas is fantastic for expert skiers are adventurous intermediates but beginners are well serviced as well.
The nursery slopes are right in the center of the village so for absolute beginners there is not need to have to take any big scary gondolas. Once you have done a day or so in the beginner's area it will be time to head up the Belevarde Gondola towards the main slopes in the valley which you can test your newfound skills.
Intermediate skiers in Canazei will love the local slopes. There is about 150km of piste in Val di Fassa alone and much of consists on red runs that are not too challenging. Many intermediates will be happy with just a local valley lift pass but those who really want to test themselves will want o purchase a full area pass and hit the Sella Ronda Circuit.
There is loads of advanced skiing in Canazei and the surrounding resorts. Expert skiers will definitely want to purchase the full Dolomiti Superski lift pass which will give full access to all of the nearby resorts and the legendary Sella Ronda Circuit. It is a serious ski to make it round the full circuit in one day but it is a must do for any advanced skier. Aiming to do the clockwise and the anti clockwise circuit at least once each throughout the course of a weeks skiing is the aim of most experts. Testing yourself on the World Cup Downhill piste in Val Gardina is also a must-do.
The Dolimiti Snowpark is located just above Canazei and it will attract snowboarders of all abilities offering rails, boxes and jumps of various sizes so no matter how experienced or inexperienced you are at snowboarding there will still be something on offer for you. There is also a boarder cross which will be enjoyed by all.
There is loads of off piste to be found in the Sella Ronda but be careful as it is band in some areas. It is always advisable to hire a guide when going off piste in Italy. Sass Pordoi offer some decent off piste route and you will find that there are designated trails which are unpisted listed on the Sella Ronda piste map as well.

Whilst Canazei has managed to maintain its alpine charm a traditional feel it has still managed to grow over the years as well. Being the main resorts in Val di Fassa it offers a whole host of bars and restaurants and the bars are always busy during the apres ski hours. The well named “Apres Ski Paradis” Bar is definitely one to check out between the hours of 2.30pm and 8.30pm. The Apres on offer in Canazei might not quite be at the same levels as resorts like St Anton or Verbier but there is enough to keep you going for a week.
Indoor water park and spa centre. Outdoor ice skating (at Campitello), Indoor ice skating and ice hockey matches (in Alba). Paragluiding. Winter walking trails throughout the valley
