Villars is a great destination for a family ski holiday and has been awarded the Swiss Tourist Federations 'Families Welcome' seal. It is a picturesque Swiss village which oozes charm and character. There are roughly 125km of piste in the area of which the majority are blue and red runs, so plenty of slopes to learn to ski on. There are 3 main village that make up the ski area (Villars, Les Diablerets and Gryon) and there is glacier skiing all the way up at 3000m meaning guaranteed snow!
As well as being known as being a good family resort, Villars is also renowned for its fine dining. There are many fantastic restaurants in the village and the on mountain restaurants offer some brilliant menus as well. For something different every day check out the restaurant Le Jardin des Alpes.
If you are not quite sure where you want to stay in Villars, or if you are not sure if Villars is the right resort for your ski holiday or not then feel free to give our friendly sales staff a call.We are here to help you find the right holiday so just tell us what you want and we will try and find it for you.
For absolute beginners there is free skiing in Villars in the special beginners area that is just behind the mountain railway station in the centre of the village. Once you progress from here after your first day you can get the mluntai railway to the higher slopes where again they have a special beginners area with easy magic carpet lift. You can then wither get the train back down or take the easy blue slopes which run back into the village and wiggle there way through some a setting of beautiful alpine trees.
Villars is a brilliant ski resort for intermediates. If you are still a bit nervous then the specific 'Ski Slow' pistes will be just what you need to get your confidence up. However, if you are a upper intermediate then you will love the fact that there is over 100km of piste and the way the area is divided into three resorts giving you different areas to explore.
There are 13km of black runs in Villars and it's linked resorts. Coupled with the 47km of red runs, this gives enough skiing for an advanced skier to stay busy for a week. You might find that you have to ski the same runs a few times but if does not bother you then you will be happy enough with what is on offer. However, Villars come into its own once you start to explore the off piste possibilities. See below for more details.
Snowboarders on holiday in Villars will like the snowparks and the off piste. There is a fun park and half pipe in Les Diablerets and there are 2 snowparks in Villars. However, there are a couple of tricky flat sections in the area and a few drags lifts which can be tricky for first time or intermediate snowboarders.
The off piste skiing in Villars is a really hidden gem. You anger fresh lines days after it has snowed. It is so good then off piste guides from Verbier are starting to bring clients over to Villars as it is only an hour away and you are much more likely to get fresh lines in Villars the you are in a resort like Verbier where all the off piste gets tracked out within hours of a fresh snow fall.

Club Med Villars Sur Ollon
Tell us roughly when you want to go and who is coming, and we will price it with the operators for you.
No obligation. One of the team will come back to you the same day where we can.
Your will not find any après ski action on the mountain in Villars. You have to head into the village to hind the action after a day on the slopes. You also won't find any crazy umbrella bars with dancing on the tables and on air DJ's, bit if you want a few nice drinks of a long day on the slopes then there are plenty of watering holes to check out and a few nightclubs to through into the mix for later night shenanigans as well.
