La Plagne and Les Arcs link up to form the massive Paradiski area, which is the 3rd biggest in France. With 425 km of piste there really is something for everyone. With the highest peak the Bellecôte Glacier at 3250m there’s guaranteed snow all season long.
With nursery slopes in each ski center and easy wide runs between each village, La Plagne is the perfect destination for first time beginner skiers and children. This includes villages like Belle Plagne and Les Coches that are more traditional villages with their own ski schools with many ski in, ski out properties.
This resort is an intermediate skier’s paradise, with 70 blue and 32 red runs allowing over 70% of all the runs to be a perfect playground for intermediate skiers. The longest run being a huge 15km. A few popular runs include those from the La Grande Rochette to Champagny and the Roche de Mio back to Belle Plagne.
For expert skiers, this French ski resort has plenty of black pistes off the Plagne Bellecote glacier and many tree lined ski runs from Aime La Plagne, as well as many tricky off-piste routes near Plagne 1800.
There’s some phenomenal terrain in this resort including great bowls from the tops of Roche de Mio and La Grande Rochette. From Aime La Plagne there are some fantastic off-piste tree routes to Le Fornelet. There are also some amazing routes from the north facing slopes from the Bellecote glacier dropping 2km into Nancroix a true classic alpine descent.
Whether you are an expert or new to snowboarding, La Plagne is a fantastic destination for anyone who want to improve their skills and cover large distances on different types of terrain, thanks to its large number of wide intermediate pistes. There is also a snow park in Plagne Soleil and plenty of off piste opportunities through the trees. In the snow park there’s a great selection of rails, kickers, a half pipe and an air bag to practice on.
Although not as well known for its après ski as some of the other French ski resorts, there are still many bars to explore in La Plagne. La Mine in Plagne 1800 has a great vibe and rather unusual décor, with old fashioned mine carts as tables.
In Plagne Centre, there is Scotty’s, which is an après ski hotspot that attracts many skiers for a drink after a hard day on the slopes. Up in Belle Plagne, there is the Salon Bar where it is possible to order some good beers. The 11 villages that make up La Plagne are all easy interlinked by regular and efficient bus service or late night gondola.
La Plagne has some fantastic mountain restaurants on offer that are spread across the La Plagne ski area. Close to Plagne Centre is the Mère-Grand, which is easily accessed from the slopes or by foot and serves traditional specialties and tasty snacks
In the Paradiski one of the highest restaurants is the Le Chalet de la Grande Rochette, which is located at the top of the Funiplagne Grande Rochette. This restaurant is at 2505m for some fantastic views, and is a must-do during your ski holiday.
