Situated within the Sivretta Arena, Galtur is often overshadowed by the fame and reputation of Ischgl to the point where Galtur is sometimes thought of as being a destination for holiday makers who wanted to stay in Ischgl but just could not find any accommodation at the right price. Don't get us wrong, if you are struggling to find accommodation in Ischgl but you are desperate to ski the area then Galtur is a good place to look. However, it really is a ski destination in its own right and has its own charm and appeal, with 40km of piste in its local ski area (the Silvapark) and a lovely laid back vibe which is ideal for families are those who shy away from the bright lights of resorts like Ischgl.
The local skiing to Galtur is ideal for beginners and intermediates whilst for any more advanced skiers a day or so skiing on the local slopes will be enough when supplemented with a few trips down the road to experience the skiing on offer in Ischgl. Ischgl is a real party town and Galtur is very different. It is a great place to stay if you are happy to get a bus up on down the valley to get to the different ski areas that are on offer but don't want to be bothered by the hustle and bustle that comes with staying in Ischgl. In total there is 340km of piste on offer in the area and it is know throughout Austria as being one of the best ski regions!
You will find a good selection of holiday options in Galtur on our website but if you want a bit of help to sift through what is on offer, or you just want some friendly advise then do not hesitate to call our sales team on 02037780123 who will more than happily help.
Galtur is part of the massive Sivretta Arena, with 340 km of slopes, which is great for all levels. It is also linked to the legendary resort of Ischgl that is just a short bus ride away.
Galtur is ideal for beginner skiers and has great nursery slopes on which to learn the ropes. There are also some slightly more challenging slopes that you should be able to progress onto within a couple of days.
Lower intermediates skiers or those who have only skied a couple of times before will find that the 40km of piste on offer in Galturs 'Silvapark' ski area will be more than enough for a weeks skiing as there is a good selection of both blue and red runs. However, those with a bit more skiing experience under their belts will probably want to take advantage of the full area and head down to Ischgl where there is huge selection of runs on offer.
Expert and advanced skiers on holiday in Galtur will enjoy the local slopes for at least the first day of your holiday but there is no doubt that to make the most of the area you will have to purchase the full area lift pass and get the bus down the valley to Ischgl. There is a whole host of advanced skiing on offer in Ischgl and loads of off piste route to be found.

No obligation. One of the team will come back to you the same day where we can.
The apres ski scene in Galtur is pretty quite but there are a few bars which are worth checking out, namely: Tommy's Garage, Huberstadl and Der Silbertaler. For those in search of some really lively apres ski you will have to venture down the valley to Ischgl. A lot of people will send that day skiing in Ischgl and then stop for a spot of apres ski before heading back to Galtur on the bus. If you miss the last bus or if you plan on staying in Ischgl through to the earlier hours then there is a 24hr taxi service.
